NECINA (http://www.necina.org) is a New England-based nonprofit organization founded 19 years ago by a group of highly successful entrepreneurs. Our mission is to nourish entrepreneurship, facilitate professional career development, and bridge the business and culture gap between New England and Greater China.

NECINA’s Career Conference is a signature event run annually. This well received event attracts a large number of attendees, including professionals, students, and recent graduates, all with a variety of backgrounds, such as Information Technology, Marketing, Business, Accounting, Finance and Operations. This year’s participating employers are bringing hundreds of Greater Boston’s local jobs to this wonderful event!

Entrepreneur Workshop-Pave the way from academic circle to entrepreneurial world

In parallel to the above activities, NECINA NEW Program will host a workshop to provide young ambitious graduates another way of planning their future - to start a venture. This workshop brings together a panel of outstanding young entrepreneurs to share with graduates their real stories from college to venture startups. From this interactive discussion session, graduates will have a chance to learn how those pioneers paved their road map to becoming entrepreneurs. At last, an experienced lawyer will provide advises and answer all kinds of legal questions that graduates might encounter when starting their business.

Speaker Bios

Hong Chen 

Hong Chen recently joined State Street as the CFO for its Alternative Investment Solutions group (AIS).  Her role is to lead AIS financial functions, annual operational planning process and regular financial analysis and reporting.

Prior to State Street, Hong spent 17 years in Cigna Corporation.  Her previous leadership roles include Marketing Director - Cigna Global Health Benefits, Division Controller - Cigna International, Controller - Cigna International Expatriate Benefits, and most recently, she was the COO of Cigna Global Health Benefits Business, Asia Pac region. Hong brings a broad background in health insurance and service operations in both US and China markets.

Hong is a Certified Internal Auditor and passed the AICPA exam. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Finance from Shanghai International Business College and a Master of Business Administration from University of Notre Dame.
 

 
Mary Adams 

Mary Adams is an expert in integrated thinking and sustainable value creation.  She is the founder of Smarter-Companies which provides open tools, training and a proprietary platform for stakeholder evaluation of the diverse capitals that drive value creation. These tools are used to make the connection between sustainability, innovation and financial results. Her company's network includes consulting firms on five continents. Mary is also the co-author of Intangible Capital: Putting Knowledge to Work in the 21st Century Organization.Taskforce.
 

 
Song Pang 

Song Pang is the Director, Support and Services at NetBrain Technologies which is headquartered in Burlington, MA. At NetBrain he is responsible for ensuring customers are successful in adopting and gaining value out of the NetBrain product. Prior to NetBrain Song spent 4 years at Stroud International, a management consulting firm based in Marblehead MA where he partnered with operations leadership teams in opportunity identification, results delivery and designing improvement frameworks. Song holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
